We purchased 2 of these lights for our kitchen. However, we cannot use them because they don't give off enough light. With both installed, as well as a small light over the sink, there was only an erie green glow given off. we would have needed to install more lighting if we kept them.

Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Be warned - from the photo you would think that the lamp has white insets - but it is very yellow in tone. It is does not "light" a room. We increased the wattage and it still feels dark. But if dim half light is what you are looking for, it is a nice piece.

Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend
